Christmas Is Soon
Quilt label
This Advent Calendar was made to replace the earlier one I made for my first grandson. It was made in November 2004. It was given to my two grandsons to use for the first time in December of 2004. It has been used every year since. They both look forward to taking it home filled every Thanksgiving.
It measures 30" wide29 1/2 long and is made of 100% cotton, is machine embroidered and machine quilted. The pockets measure 3 1/2 wide X 5" long with gussets on either side.

Blue Collection
This 58" x 60" hand appliqued, machine pieced and quilted piece was a block of the month project. I would receive a kit to do one block at a time in the mail. This is a Maggie Walker design. I started this quilt in 1999 and finished it in 2002. The delay was caused by working on too many projects at the same time. Three of them being hand appliqued quilts which tend to be time consuming. I was also working full time.

September Song
This quilt was made from pre cut flannel squares bought at the PA National Quilt Extravaganza 2002 held in Ft Washington ,PA. It was put together on the day after purchasing the squares, on a dare from my friends to have it completed while they were at the show taking a class. I won the dare, but I had to work very hard and fast.
This 47 3/4" x 58 1/2" quilt is 100% flannel, machine pieced and quilted with variegated thread. I used my embroidery machine to quilt various leave shapes into the center of each square. Before I was able to do that, I had to scan the leaf shapes into my Artista Software where I digitized each leaf and then had to send it over to my machine for stitching.
Now I Know My ABC's

Techniques employed are machine embroidery, photo transfer, machine piecing and machine quilting.

A lot of time was spent playing "I Spy" on this quilt. This quilt was used to cover my grandson's bed from age two until age eleven. He kept saying it was fine and I knew it needed replacing.

Autumn Harvest
A machine appliqued, machine pieced and machine quilted wallhanging using Quilters Dream Request cotton batting . It measures 25'x29". I made this piece to practice machine applique.
This was made in November 2000. It too hangs in my quilting studio year round.
An American Snowman
This small 15 inch square quilt was made in a class taught by Sherri Dunbar (deceased in 2004) at the Country Quilt Shop in Montgomeryville,PA in November 2000. The class was to teach the "trapunto" technique. This technique makes the object (in this case the snowman) more full by adding extra batting under that object. The snowman was previously stenciled on the background fabric. It was a fun class.
This piece is 100% cotton, machine pieced and machine quilted.
Wish Upon A Conneticut Star
Another quilt of the Teddy on the moon for my grandson. I just liked this easy cute quilt. The fabrics are just a little different on this one.
Debbie Does December
This quilt is a machine embroidered (Debbie Mumm Designs) machine pieced and machine quilted project. It is the first quilt in which I used my embroidery module to do a lot of the quilting using gold metallic thread. At the time(July 2000) it was a rather new concept to use the embroidery module to quilt the quilt sandwich. Because the newer larger hoops were not yet invented I had to hoop the quilt over 100 times to finish the quilting process.
The quilt measures 49 1/4 inches square and is 100 % cotton, machine pieced and machine quilted.
This quilt was my entry into the Yardley Makefield Needle,Thread and Yarn Group's "Christmas In July" Challenge. We have since changed our name to the "Sew What's".
This quilt was selected by the Byrne Sewing Connection in New Britian, PA to be part of their exhibition "New Quilts of The Delaware Valley" at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza VII in September 2000.
It now hangs year round in my quilting studio.
