Think Before You Sew
This is a baby quilt I started to make when I thought it was time ( four years after the wedding) for me to be getting a call about my first grandchild being in the "oven"". This small quilt features machine pieced nine patch blocks alternated with blocks with hand appliqued hearts. The quilt is hand quilted.
I chose the name because I was too busy making blocks without giving any thought to the secondary design that would form. Do you see areas where there is a strong diagonal line made by the darker colors in the nine patch blocks? Had I put more thought into my piecing the overall look would have been more appealing. Another lesson learned.
This quilt has never been used. I was not really happy with it. I would find that i had three more years to find out I was going to be a Grandmother!
